Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk was featured during a spacewalk on October 29, 2026, while the International Space Station hovered 267 miles above the South Atlantic Ocean. During the event, Kutryk and NASA astronaut Anil Menon successfully installed a new roll-out solar array and completed preliminary tasks for their upcoming spacewalk.
Upcoming Installation Plans
The next spacewalk is scheduled for November 5, 2026, during which Kutryk and Menon will install the eighth and final roll-out solar array. Once all eight arrays are operational, they are expected to enhance the station’s power capacity by up to 30 percent.
The efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to boost the International Space Station’s energy capabilities.
