Envía tu nombre a Titán en la misión Dragonfly de la NASA

The NASA Dragonfly mission is inviting the public to send their names aboard its innovative rotorcraft, which will explore Titan, Saturn’s largest moon. This initiative allows participants to be part of the first scientific mission to fly over the surface of another celestial body.

How to Participate

Individuals interested in having their names included on a microchip accompanying the Dragonfly can register until 11:59 PM EST on January 15, 2027. Participants will also receive a personalized digital boarding pass commemorating their involvement in this historic mission.

Mission Overview

Nicky Fox, the associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, expressed excitement about the Dragonfly mission, emphasizing its potential to reveal valuable insights about Titan, a world with a dense atmosphere and liquid methane lakes. The rotorcraft is currently being assembled at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland, with a planned launch in 2028.

Exploration Goals

Upon its arrival at Titan in 2034, Dragonfly will explore various environments across the moon, searching for signs of prebiotic chemistry, which could provide clues about the conditions necessary for life. The mission is part of NASA’s New Frontiers Program and is managed by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama.
